Hello from the other side…

See what I did there? (Okay, I have got to stop listening to Adele’s new song!)

First essay of the new term done and dusted and, thanks to Chekhov, a very good mark indeed. So, I’ve climbed out of that essay bubble which I always seem to shroud myself in a week before the deadline and I’m ready to… start the next essay! But what should greet me on the horizon – NANOWRIMO !!!!

Sunday marks the start of NaNoWriMo 2015 and for the last few weeks I have been bombarded with reminders everywhere I look. I wrote an article on the whole process in September, which you can read here http://www.writingtimes.co.uk/will-this-be-your-nanowrimo-year, and even though I know it will be a slog I am getting myself geared up to make a start first thing on Sunday morning. I can’t believe we are about to say goodbye to October…

I have been given tons of valuable advice on Twitter by those who have survived the process and one of the tips I intend to utilise during the month is Pinterest. Apparently, creating a visual tool seems to help a lot of writers get into the zone as they work away on their word count. I have therefore set up a private board on my account which I hope to use for inspiration as I work my way through (any excuse to use Pinterest is welcome!)

To all those taking part this year, good luck and see you on the other side…
