Mermaids Beattie, Mimi and Zelda are enjoying a summer on land with legs when they receive a strange CRABAGRAM ordering them to return home at once. Some seriously BAD MERMAIDS are on the loose and the girls are the only ones who can stop them. If they’re going to save the day, they’ll need answers. And a clam car. Definitely piranha-print nail polish. Possibly not the talking seahorse. CAN THEY DO IT? Filled with magical mysteries, fabulous fashion, and a serious piranha problem, Bad Mermaids brings a whole new twist to the underwater world of mermaids. If you enjoyed The Little Mermaid, you’ll love this too!
This was actually a book for my youngest daughter Hermione to review, but I just had to post it on my blog because a) It’s always great to promote books for kids that portray individual and sassy characters (especially for girls) and b) We both absolutely loved the cover of this book!
Hermione enjoyed watching The Netflix Series H20: Just Add Water a few months ago, so when she saw this book she immediately wanted to review it. (Personally, I have no idea what the fascination with mermaids is but it seems to be a winning formula!) I really think it was having the word Bad in the title that encouraged her more, if I’m honest. Anything that pushes the boundaries and suggests excitement and misbehaving seems to do the trick with my daughter, as is evident in her favourite authors David Walliams and Andy Stanton!
Hermione thought the whole concept of Bad Mermaids was funny, the illustrations were cool and, above all, she laughed throughout the book as she read about the venture to prevent the Bad Mermaids from causing havoc!
Sibeal is the best selling author of the Witch Wars Series, which is hugely popular, and it looks like Bad Mermaids will also be the start of a great series. The book is perfect for both boys and girls who love having a bit of fun with their reading!
Thank you to the lovely people at Lovereading4kids for allowing Hermione to review the fun filled Bad Mermaids.
